Art - Seeing Without An Object

 

In the late 1960s/early 1970s Jan Valentin Saether studied both painting under Professor Reidar Aulie and sculpture under Professor Per Palle Storm. Jan was an accomplished artist, working within several media, with main focus on figurative painting and sculpture.

Saether developed his own system for painting, Seeing Without An Object (TM), and a unique training program for teaching students how to master the painter's skills and explore their own artistic vision. His teaching was un-dogmatic, and several of the students who studied under him at the Oslo Art Academy from 1996-2002, are among the most successful younger artists in Norway today.

Jan Valentin Saether passed away on January 11 2018.
